The Business Intelligence Developer is accountable for designing, developing and maintaining business intelligence solutions. He/she evaluates and improves existing Business Intelligence systems and collaborates with teams to integrate systems. He/she identifies and disseminates Business Intelligence best practices for the group.

Essential Functions

Design, develop, test, implement, and support critical Business Intelligence solutions, sourcing data from multiple inputs.

Partner with others to identify and implement the tools, technologies, applications and practices used to collect, integrate, analyze, and present a client organization’s data in order to create insightful and actionable business information; establish interactive visualizations and front end software applications for client engagement.

As the BI Platform SME, provide guidance and strategy on visualization usage including the development of templates, style guidelines, custom themes, etc.

Continuously evaluate new BI platforms and technologies or updates to existing tools for potential adoption.

Provide SME input on compliance of products to architectural standards and impacts to IT environment.

Required Skills:

5+ years related work experience.

Related Bachelor’s degree or additional related equivalent work experience

Experience in technology related field with a minimum of 3 years of experience using a Business Intelligence product such as Tableau,

Power BI or Other BI Tool Sets for the creation and automation of enterprise scale dashboards, visualizations, standard reports, scorecards, and ad-hoc reports.

Experience with advanced BI topics/issues such as complex calculations, user interactions, parameters, geographic mapping, and performance optimization. Proficiency writing SQL queries using Toad or SQL Server applications within DB2 or similar environments.

Strong business acumen with ability to develop and effectively communicate information and insights through analysis and decision-making based on both qualitative and quantitative data.

Preferred Skills:

UI or graphic design Healthcare and/or health insurance experience

Knowledge of internal Florida Blue data structure
