Our Software Architect is responsible for defining the high level and detailed technical designs for supported teams operating in a DevOps capacity . The Software Architect collaborates with technical leadership to translate business requirements into technical solutions that align with product roadmap, business goals, and technology strategy. What you will be doing
Define high-level and detailed technical designs for supported teams; own non-functional requirements; align non-functional requirements with functional requirements, program standards, and enterprise architecture.
Ensure team’s technical work is aligned with the program architecture, program technical direction, and enterprise architecture; enable the application of industry standards and best practices to ensure a clean, maintainable codebase.
Ensure that a sufficient level of technical design is achieved in time to enable effective execution of software development tasks assigned to the team.
Collaborate with product ownership to refine team backlogs by reviewing features and user stories; assist the team with estimating work, defining sprints, and designing stories.
Mentor, coach, train, and provide feedback to other team members; provide feedback to leadership on the technical abilities of the team.
Collaborate and consult with team-level leadership to contribute to the product and architectural roadmap.
Develop complex code based on functional and non-functional specifications; develop prototypes to evaluate and demonstrate architectural concepts and design patterns.
Operate as a trusted advisor to influence and lead the application of standard processes and practices on a team, including backlog refinement, planning, work estimation, solution demos, and software/solution reviews.
Operate as an innovative thought leader; contribute significantly to the overall growth and quality of the team through knowledge sharing and coaching on current best practices and market trends for software development.
What will make you successful
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Experience with continuous software delivery
Advanced working experience with data structures, algorithms, and software design
Advanced working experience with build environments and delivery pipelines
Advanced working experience in understanding and application of software design, design patterns, architecture patterns, and quality attributes
Advanced working modelling skills covering information, domain, process, state, security, logical, and physical architectural views
Advanced working knowledge and experience in container orchestration services such as Kubernetes
Advanced working knowledge and experience in administering and deploying development CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Azure DevOps
Advanced working knowledge and application of modern software development lifecycle processes from product conception through deployment.
Experience, knowledge, and direct development experience of two or more technology stacks
Good oral and written communications skills that demonstrate a professional demeanor and the ability to interact with a variety of cross-functional roles.
Good working level organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills
Good working level collaboration and negotiation skills, applied successfully within team as well as with all levels of employees in other areas
Good working level leadership, sound judgement, and business acumen skills
Good interpersonal skills; able to maintain solid rapport with team members as well as maintain professionalism with those outside of department
Good data gathering, interviewing, and analytical/problem solving skills
