Lead Reddit’s Strategic Partnerships, Media, and BD teams to achieve our Mission to bring community and belonging to everyone in the world, including entities, influencers, companies, as well people. 

Teams

  • Partnerships: largest strategic partners across all aspects of relationship
  • Media: publishers, influencers, gaming companies
  • Business Development: API and data programs, ads enablement partners, sales programs 

Responsibilities

  • “See things first”: Early identification of opportunities for Reddit product and business strategy
    • Bring a multi-year perspective on the major trends that are shaping the ecosystem around Reddit, including 
      • Rise of competitors (e.g., Discord)
      • Ecosystem changes (e.g., Google indexing of video)
      • New emergent user behaviors (e.g., gifting in China)
      • Content and ad format evolution (e.g., creators on Patreon, gaming release note capture)
      • Data and privacy (e.g., cookieless environment)
      • Advertising (e.g., brand safety measurement)
    • Ability to influence the Reddit organization and strategy with this knowledge and credibility
    • Relationships and access to a global swath of investors and companies (mature and early stage)
  • Build high impact partnership programs for Reddit 
    • Design partnerships and programs that enable Reddit to benefit from emerging trends in terms of user growth and revenue
      • Large complex partnerships (e.g., Google)
      • Content programs (e.g., creators, media)
      • Developer programs (e.g., API)
      • Revenue programs (e.g., international sales, measurement)
    • Execute programs by setting a vision and exciting cross-functional teams to support the programs
  • Develop and execute acquisition strategies

  • XFN Responsibilities
    • Provide early visibility and strategic landscape view to Product and Engineering to inform the development of Reddit’s core products and strategy
    • Design programs that can support ad sales and be the bridge between Ads and Consumer Product for execution
    • Collaborate with Marketing and Comms to explain and launch partnerships successfully on Reddit
    • Collaborate with Legal to ensure thorough contracting and agreement negotiation.
  • Team
    • Recruit diverse and world-class talent into Reddit
    • Develop known industry leaders across Partnerships, Media, and BD 

Experience / Skills

  • Has led corporate and business development teams
  • Has built programs of significant revenue and user value to a company, and that are externally recognized; and has led the identification and acquisition of companies
  • Has a vast network including executives at early and late stage companies, and has a strong reputation for being a strong partner
  • Will be an essential participant, if not a lead, in multi-year strategy discussions on product, content, data, user behavior, and advertising 
  • Is deeply immersed in all trends in the digital ecosystem, and has an informed, intellectual rigor to their perspective.
